Some images remain a dream for a long time before I try to turn them into reality. Among these, there was a strange picture that would show flying insects around a lighted bulbduring a summer night. The shot seems to be very simple. But the first poor results immediately made me realize that the task was much more difficult. But I did not expect that sophisticated equipment was mandatory to take a good picture!
The Nikon flash units are equipped with a TN-A1 orange filter to balance the color temperature of lightning with the light delivered by the bulb.
LASER PHOTO BEAM
This frame is an optical bench designed to photograph butterflies in flight. It is equipped with a laser and two mirrors and works with an external electronic controller. The bulb is attached to the frame near the Laser.
The laptop runs the Phocus software that allows to control the Hasselblad body and save the heavy 40 Mpix RAW files on the hard drive in just one second via a Firewire 800.
